Metadata Consultant

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Metadata Consultant to support the migration of legacy Integrated Library Systems into a shared Library Services Platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with teams to assess existing metadata and develop a migration plan
• Transform and standardize metadata using various tools and ensure consistent use of controlled vocabularies
• Develop quality control procedures and assist with the technical migration of metadata into the new system

Required Qualifications

• Master's degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA-accredited program (or equivalent)
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in metadata creation and management in a library setting
• Proficiency in metadata standards and controlled vocabularies
• Hands-on experience with metadata cleanup and transformation tools
• Demonstrated leadership in at least one complete ILS/LSP migration project
