Job Summary
Supporting the Ohio State University Libraries' Metadata Initiatives, the part-time Metadata Student Assistant will create, transform, and edit non-MARC metadata for digital collections while working remotely for 10-12 hours per week.
Key responsibilities
- Creating and repurposing metadata for digital collections
- Ingesting metadata and digital files into the repository and verifying successful ingests
- Aiding with accessibility tasks, including transcribing and proofreading digital content
Required qualifications
- Enrolled in a Master's degree program focused on Library and Information Science, Art History, History, English, or Humanities
- Experience using Microsoft Excel
- Comfortable learning new technologies and skills
- Detail-oriented with a preference for independent work
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
