Job Summary

A company is looking for a Metadata Taxonomist for a contract opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze existing metadata structures across HR information systems to identify gaps and inconsistencies
• Define and operationalize a comprehensive HR-wide metadata framework tailored to AI-driven search and retrieval
• Establish governance processes and standards for maintaining metadata integrity over time

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in information science, library science, semantics/ontology, or a related field
• 2+ years of experience in a metadata-related field, including creating and governing taxonomies
• Hands-on experience implementing taxonomies or standardizing metadata in a CMS or enterprise search platform
• Experience working with business SMEs to reconcile competing mental models into a controlled vocabulary
• Ability to operate independently in a greenfield environment and drive work to production-ready outcomes
