Meteorologist

Job Summary

To support a growing team, the full-time remote Meteorologist will manage operational weather forecasting, validate models, and investigate forecast errors while collaborating with software engineering and product teams.

Key responsibilities:

• Conduct operational weather forecasting and apply atmospheric science principles
• Perform forecast verification and model validation using statistical methods
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance forecasting techniques and tools

Required qualifications:

• MS in Meteorology, atmospheric science, or related field, or BS with 5+ years of experience
• Expertise in numerical weather prediction and operational weather forecasting
• Experience with forecast verification and model validation
• Proficiency in Python and SQL coding
• Experience in a client-facing or consulting role providing subject matter expertise
