Meteorologist

Job Summary

To support the development and validation of advanced weather forecasting solutions, the contract Meteorologist will analyze weather data, evaluate numerical weather prediction models, and collaborate with engineering teams, all while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze and interpret weather data using operational forecasting techniques
• Evaluate numerical weather prediction models and identify opportunities for improvement
• Collaborate with software engineers and product teams to develop weather forecasting solutions

Required qualifications

• Master's degree in Meteorology, Atmospheric Science, or a related field; or Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of professional forecasting experience
• Demonstrated expertise in operational weather forecasting and atmospheric science
• Experience with numerical weather prediction models and forecast verification
• Strong analytical skills and ability to investigate forecasting errors
• Working knowledge of Python and SQL
