MFT Platform Engineer

Job Summary

Supporting the implementation and operation of a File Transfer platform in a GCP-hosted environment, the contract MFT Platform Engineer will deploy, configure, and maintain secure data transfer workflows while providing operational support remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Support the deployment and configuration of the Globus Connect Server for secure data transfers
• Manage storage gateways and optimize data transfer workflows for performance
• Onboard research users and provide Tier 1/2 operational support while maintaining platform health

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or an associate's degree with two years of relevant experience
• Over three years of hands-on experience with the Globus platform, including GCS v5
• Strong knowledge of Google Cloud Platform services such as Compute Engine and Cloud Storage
• Proficiency in Linux system administration and scripting with Bash
• Experience with networking security concepts and Zero-Trust security models
