MFT Platform Engineer

Job Summary

Supporting the implementation and operation of a File Transfer platform within a GCP-hosted environment, the contract MFT Platform Engineer will deploy, configure, and maintain secure data transfer workflows while ensuring compliance with security standards, all in a fully remote setting.

Key responsibilities

• Support the deployment and configuration of the Globus Connect Server for secure data transfers
• Manage storage gateways and data transfer workflows to optimize performance
• Onboard research users and provide Tier 1/2 operational support

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or an associate's degree with two years of relevant experience
• Over three years of hands-on experience with the Globus platform, including GCS v5, endpoints, and collections
• Strong knowledge of Google Cloud Platform services such as Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, IAM, and networking
• Proficiency in Linux system administration and scripting with Bash
• Understanding of high-throughput data transfer protocols like GridFTP
