Michigan Licensed Claim Representative

Job Summary

Handling moderate to difficult claims, the full-time Michigan Licensed Claim Representative will verify coverage, determine liability, negotiate settlements, and manage claims while working remotely with occasional travel to insured municipalities.

Key responsibilities

• Verifies coverage and determines liability for property and casualty claims through thorough investigation
• Establishes appropriate reserves and manages estimates and invoices for claims, approving payments based on legal liability
• Negotiates settlements with attorneys or injured parties and closes files following resolution of claims

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
• Three years of experience in property and casualty claims, including knowledge of policy coverages and exclusions
• Familiarity with Michigan municipal liability statutes and case law
• Proficiency in using computers and company standard software
• Bilingual skills preferred
