Job Summary
Handling moderate to difficult claims, the full-time Michigan Licensed Claim Representative will verify coverage, determine liability, negotiate settlements, and manage claims while working remotely with occasional travel to insured municipalities.
Key responsibilities
- Verifies coverage and determines liability for property and casualty claims through thorough investigation
- Establishes appropriate reserves and manages estimates and invoices for claims, approving payments based on legal liability
- Negotiates settlements with attorneys or injured parties and closes files following resolution of claims
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- Three years of experience in property and casualty claims, including knowledge of policy coverages and exclusions
- Familiarity with Michigan municipal liability statutes and case law
- Proficiency in using computers and company standard software
- Bilingual skills preferred
