Job Summary
Managing a caseload of Michigan No-Fault Personal Injury Protection (PIP) claims, the full-time Michigan Licensed Claim Representative will investigate and administer both litigated and non-litigated claims while collaborating with various stakeholders in a fully remote setting.
Key responsibilities
- Determines compensability and causal relationships for claims through thorough investigations
- Establishes reserves and manages medical bills related to claims while ensuring compliance with state legislation
- Negotiates settlements and closes files in accordance with performance standards and legal requirements
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience in MACP claim handling
- Three years of experience in handling MCAP claims, with preferred experience in multiple jurisdictions
- Knowledge of Michigan Assigned Claims Plan and Michigan Automobile No Fault regulations
- Proficiency in using computers and company standard software specific to the position
- Certification or progress toward certification in claims handling is highly preferred
