Job Summary
Ensuring compliance with fire safety codes and standards, the full-time Michigan Licensed Fire Safety Inspector will conduct inspections of state facilities, institutions, and businesses in the Detroit Region while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with fire safety codes and state regulations
- Prepare reports and documentation related to inspection findings and compliance status
- Collaborate with state agencies and stakeholders to address fire safety concerns
Required qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Three years of experience as a firefighter, law enforcement officer, or corrections officer for Fire Safety Inspector 9
- Two years of experience equivalent to a Fire Safety Inspector 9 for Fire Safety Inspector E10
- Valid Michigan Fire Inspector certification or NFPA Certified Fire Inspector I credentials
- Possession of a valid driver's license
