Job Summary

Ensuring compliance with fire safety codes and standards, the full-time Michigan Licensed Fire Safety Inspector will conduct inspections of state facilities, institutions, and businesses in the Detroit Region while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with fire safety codes and state regulations
• Prepare reports and documentation related to inspection findings and compliance status
• Collaborate with state agencies and stakeholders to address fire safety concerns

Required qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Three years of experience as a firefighter, law enforcement officer, or corrections officer for Fire Safety Inspector 9
• Two years of experience equivalent to a Fire Safety Inspector 9 for Fire Safety Inspector E10
• Valid Michigan Fire Inspector certification or NFPA Certified Fire Inspector I credentials
• Possession of a valid driver's license
