Job Summary

A company is looking for a Medical Coder Inpatient.

Key Responsibilities

• Extract, review, and analyze clinical information to assign appropriate ICD-10 codes for hospital billing and compliance
• Verify patient's discharge disposition and ensure accurate assignment of present on admission indicators
• Collaborate with Clinical Documentation Specialists to clarify documentation for accurate coding and compliance

Required Qualifications

• Associate's degree and registration with the American Health Information Management Association as an RHIT or RHIA, or eligibility with successful attainment within six months of hire
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, and coding classification systems
• Certification must be maintained through continuing education
