Job Summary
Michigan Licensed Underwriting Counsel, responsible for managing large volumes of files and providing underwriting support in a full-time role.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle large volumes of files and time-sensitive materials related to transaction matters
- Utilize underwriting standards to underwrite title insurance and provide guidance on real estate settlement services
- Issue underwriting standards and provide counsel to personnel, agents, and clients regarding title insurance commitments and policies
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor; active and current member of a State Bar
- 10+ years of experience as Commercial Underwriting Counsel
- Knowledge of the title insurance industry, including its products, policies, and endorsements
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex legal documents
- Knowledge of commercial insurance coverage and real estate terminology
