Job Summary

The full-time salaried Michigan Policy and Programs Manager will lead the Michigan Policy Fellowship, manage program activities, and develop effective policy advocacy strategies while working remotely from Michigan, preferably near Lansing or Detroit.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the Michigan Policy Fellowship, facilitating training and ensuring measurable growth in leadership and policy competencies
  • Develop and implement policy advocacy strategies to empower teachers in influencing education policy and engage in community organizing
  • Cultivate relationships with policymakers and education organizations to advance Teach Plus MI's policy agenda and enhance stakeholder engagement
Required Qualifications:
  • 5-7 years of experience in education, policy, advocacy, or a related field, with classroom teaching experience preferred
  • Strong background in education policy, legislative advocacy, and systems change work
  • Knowledge of Michigan college- and career-readiness policies and systems
  • Proven ability to design, manage, and scale programs for measurable impact
  • Demonstrated success in building relationships with teachers, policymakers, and coalition partners
