Microbiology Research Technician

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Research Technician II in Microbiology.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine scientific and medical research work in microbiology and related fields
• Assemble and operate laboratory equipment and record research data according to prescribed procedures
• Assist in data collection for project reports and supervise lower-grade laboratory personnel as needed

Required Qualifications and Education

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
• No experience required with a Bachelor's Degree; two years of laboratory experience with two years of college or four years of laboratory experience with a high school diploma/GED
• Knowledge of computational biology, molecular biology, and microbiology
• Experience with RNA-Seq, variant calling, functional annotation, and programming languages such as Python and R
• Familiarity with UNIX, Shell, and high-performance computing clusters preferred
