Job Summary
To support the Microgrid Engineering team, the full-time remote Microgrid Validation Engineer will define and implement validation frameworks, develop simulation environments, and ensure microgrid control software performs safely and reliably before deployment.
Key responsibilities
- Build validation frameworks and automated test workflows for microgrid control algorithms under various operating conditions
- Define test cases and performance criteria in collaboration with engineers and external stakeholders to assess system readiness
- Integrate field learnings into validation processes by analyzing operational data and enhancing simulation fidelity
Required qualifications
- B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
- 2-5+ years of experience in real-time system HIL validation, SIL testing, or related validation disciplines
- Hands-on experience with real-time simulators and validation platforms, including SIL and HIL testing environments
- Familiarity with simulation tools such as Simulink or Modelica, and industrial control programming languages like C++ or IEC 61131-3
- Understanding of utility interconnection requirements, grid operations, and energy market participation, preferably with ERCOT experience
