Job Summary

Supporting the Department of Energy's mission, the Mid-Level Assessment & Authorization Specialist will conduct comprehensive assessments of security and privacy controls, evaluate deficiencies, and prepare detailed reports, all while working remotely.

Key responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of security and privacy controls to determine their effectiveness and identify deficiencies
  • Prepare detailed assessment reports outlining findings and recommendations for corrective actions
  • Perform initial remediation actions on deficient controls and validate effectiveness through reassessments
Required qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or four years of equivalent professional experience
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of relevant experience in security control assessments or cybersecurity evaluations
  • Experience with federal cybersecurity frameworks, such as NIST RMF and NIST SP 800-53
  • Strong understanding of continuous monitoring processes and system inheritance concepts
  • Ability to obtain Top Secret Clearance
