Mid-Level Data Engineer

Job Summary

Joining a federal data engineering team, the full-time remote Mid-Level Data Engineer will develop and maintain ETL pipelines on a cloud-based Enterprise Data Platform (EDP) using AWS technologies while collaborating with senior engineers to support critical government functions.

Key responsibilities:

• Develop new ETL pipelines and data ingestion processes using AWS Glue, MWAA, and other AWS services, adhering to established ETL standards
• Monitor production jobs, identify issues, and ensure data availability within required ingestion timelines
• Produce and maintain comprehensive documentation for datasets, including ETL design documents and data models

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related field
• 3-5 years of experience in data engineering or a closely related technical role
• Hands-on experience with Python, PySpark, and SQL for ETL pipeline development
• Experience with AWS services including Glue, S3, and MWAA
• Familiarity with PostgreSQL and experience in agile development environments
