Job Summary

Covering the Midwest region, the remote Midwest Correspondent will produce a diverse portfolio of news stories, from breaking news to in-depth enterprise pieces, while actively engaging with local sources and monitoring regional events.

Key responsibilities:

• Produce a portfolio that includes breaking news, enterprise stories, and accountability pieces across various formats
• Actively seek out newsworthy events, conduct thorough research, and maintain a deep network of local sources
• Write clear, concise, and engaging news stories that adhere to journalistic style guidelines and deadlines

Required qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in journalism or a relevant media organization
• Experience in high-pressure, deadline-driven newsrooms
• Strong reporting and writing skills with mastery of journalistic style and ethical standards
• A portfolio showcasing work in politics, news, enterprise, and analysis
