Job Summary
To enhance clinical documentation and coding accuracy, the full-time Minnesota Licensed Clinical Coder will perform DRG validation reviews, maintain knowledge of ICD-10 coding principles, and serve as a Subject Matter Expert in medical record reviews, with the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere within the U.S.
Key responsibilities:
- Perform DRG validation reviews and confirm appropriate diagnosis related group (DRG) assignments
- Conduct medical record reviews and provide expertise in coding and reimbursement policies
- Identify trends in coding practices and support strategies to recover overpayments
Required qualifications:
- High School Diploma / GED or equivalent work experience
- Certified coder with AHIMA or AAPC credentials (e.g., RHIA, RHIT, CPC, CIC)
- 5+ years of experience in the health insurance industry
- 2+ years of experience with inpatient DRG coding and medical records review
- Proficiency in performing financial analysis and audits
