Job Summary
To support accurate and compliant medical record documentation, the fully remote Minnesota Licensed Clinical Documentation Specialist will review patient records, collaborate with clinical teams, and educate providers on documentation best practices while driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Key responsibilities
- Completes concurrent reviews of medical records for assigned patients and ensures accurate DRG assignment
- Develops and implements physician education strategies to enhance clinical documentation quality
- Collects and analyzes data related to documentation practices and DRG distribution to identify improvement opportunities
Required qualifications
- Associates Degree in Nursing or Health Information Management (HIM) or equivalent experience
- 2 years of Acute/Inpatient experience as an RN or 5 years of inpatient coding experience
- Knowledge of clinical documentation requirements and current coding/DRG classification systems
- Registered Nurse of MN or current RHIA/RHIT certification upon hire
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify issues and propose solutions
