Job Summary
Guiding the education of healthcare professionals, the full-time remote Minnesota Licensed Coding Educator will oversee orientation, conduct audits for coding accuracy, and provide training to ensure compliance with coding regulations and reimbursement requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the orientation and ongoing education of staff involved in coding and documentation processes
- Conduct and analyze periodic audits to maintain accuracy in coding practices
- Serve as a subject matter expert on coding systems and regulations, ensuring staff meet compliance targets
Required qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Completion of college-level coding courses in IDC, CPT4, and HCPCS or relevant experience in anatomy and physiology and medical terminology
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in coding
- AHIMA (CCS, CCS-P, RHIT or RHIA) or AAPC Coding Credential
- Preferred experience with EPIC and knowledge of insurance and third-party billing
