Minnesota Licensed Coding SME

Job Summary

To enhance coding operations and quality metrics, the full-time Minnesota Licensed Coding SME will oversee facility-based coding services, lead quality initiatives, and maintain client relationships while working remotely from anywhere in the U.S.

Key responsibilities:

• Maintains expert knowledge of coding practices and oversees coding operations to ensure quality and efficiency
• Collaborates with HIM, CDI, and coding leadership to monitor operations and conduct prebill quality reviews
• Leads initiatives for continuous quality improvement and provides training and mentoring to coding staff

Required qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED
• Current, active coding credential through AAPC or AHIMA
• 5+ years of experience in a corporate coding leadership role within large multi-site healthcare organizations
• 5+ years of experience auditing inpatient and/or outpatient accounts
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for data management and training presentations
