Job Summary

To support a dynamic healthcare environment, the full-time Minnesota Licensed Healthcare Interpreter will provide accurate and culturally responsive interpretation services for Somali-speaking patients, families, and healthcare providers across various care settings.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret accurately and completely, considering cultural context and maintaining confidentiality
• Facilitate communication across cultural differences and manage the flow of communication
• Utilize consecutive and simultaneous interpreting skills as appropriate and adhere to ethical standards

Required qualifications

• Minimum of 40 hours of formal interpreter training or a certificate from an accredited organization
• Two years of remote healthcare interpreting experience or one year of remote and one year of onsite medical interpreting
• Proof of appropriate work area setup in compliance with remote work agreement
• Inclusion in the Minnesota Department of Health Spoken Language Interpreter Roster upon hire
