Job Summary

Providing essential interpretation services, the full-time Minnesota Licensed Healthcare Interpreter will facilitate communication between patients, families, and healthcare providers in a variety of care settings, ensuring equitable access to quality care while working remotely and adhering to HIPAA compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret accurately and completely, considering cultural context and the demands of the situation
• Utilize consecutive and simultaneous interpreting skills as appropriate, managing communication flow to promote autonomy
• Facilitate communication across cultural differences and maintain confidentiality while adhering to the NCIHC Code of Ethics & Standards of Practice

Required qualifications

• Minimum of 40 hours of formal training in interpreting (e.g., Bridging the Gap or The Community Interpreter)
• Two years of remote healthcare interpreting experience or one year of remote and one year of onsite medical interpreting
• Proof of appropriate work area setup in compliance with the Remote Work from Home agreement
• Must be listed on the Minnesota Department of Health Spoken Language Interpreter Roster upon hire
