Job Summary

To enhance clinical documentation and coding accuracy, the full-time Concurrent Inpatient Coding Specialist will apply diagnostic and procedural codes to medical records while working remotely from Hibbing, MN, and will engage with healthcare providers to ensure quality documentation and compliance with coding standards.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate clinical documentation improvement through collaboration with healthcare providers and coding staff
• Identify co-morbidities and complications by reviewing documentation and querying medical staff for accurate physician documentation
• Monitor documentation trends and communicate issues related to quality, completeness, and reimbursement to the documentation team

Required qualifications

• Coding Certification or Associate Degree in Health Information Management
• 3 years of coding-related experience, including coding, abstracting, and data quality
• Current AHIMA or AAPC accreditation
