Job Summary

Working full-time with the flexibility to telecommute, a Minnesota Licensed Medical Coder specializing in Same Day Surgery will manage outpatient coding, ensuring accurate assignment of ICD-10 Codes, CPT, and modifiers while adhering to established coding guidelines and performance standards.

Key responsibilities:

• Perform outpatient coding for Same Day Surgery, ensuring compliance with coding guidelines
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding standards and participate in department meetings and educational events
• Query physicians as necessary and uphold ethical coding standards as established by professional organizations

Required qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED
• Professional coder certification from AHIMA and/or AAPC, maintained annually
• 2+ years of experience with ICD-10, CPT, and modifiers
• 2+ years of experience in acute surgery coding
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and various EMR systems
