Job Summary
To support ancillary coding operations, the part-time Minnesota Licensed Medical Coder will code facility encounters, confirm documentation accuracy, and apply ICD-10-CM and CPT/HCPCS codes while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Codes ancillary facility encounters such as clinic, lab, therapy, and radiology
- Confirms documentation supports code selection and resolves facility edits and APC impacts
- Meets established quality and productivity standards in a production environment
Required qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- Required Certifications: AHIMA or AAPC credential (e.g., RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC)
- 1+ years of Ancillary experience
- 1+ years of ICD-10 experience
- Intermediate understanding of NCCI/MUE basics and facility modifier awareness
