Job Summary
To support accurate coding for Primary Care and Family Medicine, the part-time Minnesota Licensed Medical Coder will assign diagnostic and procedure codes, monitor work queues, and generate coding queries while working remotely.
Key responsibilities:
- Assign accurate diagnostic and procedure codes according to clinical documentation and coding guidelines
- Monitor assigned work queues to ensure timely charging and coding of records
- Generate coding queries for clarification regarding physician documentation as needed
Required qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED
- Professional coder certification from AHIMA and/or AAPC (CPC, COC, CPC-P, CCS)
- 2+ years of experience with ICD-10 and CPT coding focused on Primary Care and Family Medicine
- 2+ years of experience with PCs in a Windows environment, including MS Excel and EMR systems
