Missouri Licensed Inpatient Coder

Job Summary

To support healthcare documentation accuracy, the full-time Sr Inpatient Coding Specialist will review and analyze medical records to assign appropriate diagnoses and procedure codes while adhering to ethical coding standards, working remotely.

Key responsibilities:

• Review and analyze inpatient and outpatient medical records for accurate coding
• Assign diagnoses and procedure codes in compliance with official coding guidelines
• Maintain knowledge of coding classification systems and relevant regulations

Required qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 3 years of coding experience in ICD-10-CM and HCPCS/CPT coding
• Certification as RHIT, RHIA, CCS, CPC, or CIRCC, or completion within 6 months of employment
• Working knowledge of MS-DRGs, APCs, and other coding systems
• Experience with 3M encoder and Epic is preferred
