Missouri Licensed Prior Authorization Specialist

Job Summary

Working remotely on a full-time basis, the Missouri Licensed Prior Authorization Specialist will manage the financial clearance process by obtaining necessary authorizations and ensuring accurate patient data for BJC hospitals, while maintaining professional relationships with providers and insurance companies.

Key responsibilities

• Validate patient information, scheduled services, and insurance details to ensure accurate authorization data in medical records
• Communicate effectively with provider offices, insurance companies, and patients to facilitate the authorization process and provide excellent customer service
• Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to support various authorization processes, including Ancillary Authorization and Surgery Authorization

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• 2-5 years of relevant experience in prior authorization or patient access
• Knowledge of EPIC and insurance verification processes
• Ability to work in a safety-sensitive environment with a focus on teamwork and engagement
• CHAA certification preferred
