Job Summary

Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the Missouri Licensed Prior Authorization Specialist will manage the financial clearance process by obtaining necessary authorizations and ensuring accurate patient data, while maintaining positive relationships with healthcare providers and insurance companies.

Key responsibilities

• Validate patient information, scheduled procedures, and insurance details to ensure accurate authorization records
• Communicate professionally with provider offices and insurance companies, providing excellent customer service during patient interactions
• Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to support authorization processes for various BJC hospitals, engaging in continuous self-development and teamwork

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• 2-5 years of relevant experience in prior authorization or a related field
• Knowledge of insurance carriers, Medicare guidelines, and federal/state regulations
• Ability to work in a safety-sensitive position with a constant state of alertness
• CHAA certification preferred
