Job Summary

Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the Missouri Licensed Prior Authorization Specialist will manage the authorization process for patient admissions and ancillary services, ensuring accurate patient data and maintaining relationships with healthcare providers and insurance companies.

Key responsibilities

• Validate patient information, scheduled services, and insurance details to ensure accurate authorization data is recorded
• Communicate professionally with provider offices, insurance companies, and patients to facilitate the authorization process and resolve discrepancies
• Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to support authorization for various services, including outpatient and surgical procedures

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• 2-5 years of experience in a healthcare or authorization-related role
• Knowledge of insurance carriers, Medicare guidelines, and relevant accreditation standards
• Ability to work in a safety-sensitive environment with a high level of attention to detail
• CHAA certification preferred
