Missouri Licensed Prior Authorization Specialist

Job Summary

To support patient access, the full-time Missouri Licensed Prior Authorization Specialist will manage the authorization process for scheduled outpatient services and surgeries, ensuring accurate patient data and facilitating communication with provider offices and insurance companies in a remote setting.

Key responsibilities

• Validate patient information, scheduled services, and insurance details to ensure accurate authorization records
• Communicate professionally with provider offices, insurance companies, and patients to maintain positive relationships and provide excellent customer service
• Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to support authorization processes and improve employee engagement and customer satisfaction

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• 2-5 years of experience in a related field
• Knowledge of insurance carriers, Medicare guidelines, and relevant regulations
• Ability to work in a safety-sensitive position with a constant state of alertness
• Certification as a Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) is preferred
