Job Summary
Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the Missouri Licensed Prior Authorization Specialist will manage the authorization process for outpatient services and surgical procedures, ensuring accurate patient data and maintaining positive relationships with providers and insurance companies.
Key responsibilities
- Validate patient information, scheduled services, and insurance details to ensure accurate authorization data is recorded
- Communicate professionally with provider offices and insurance companies while providing excellent customer service to patients
- Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to support authorization processes and improve employee engagement and customer satisfaction
Required qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2-5 years of relevant experience in prior authorization or patient access
- Knowledge of insurance carriers, Medicare guidelines, and federal/state accreditation requirements
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and maintain safety standards
- CHAA certification preferred
