Missouri Licensed Prior Authorization Specialist

Job Summary

To support the financial clearance process, the full-time Missouri Licensed Prior Authorization Specialist will obtain necessary authorizations and Notices of Admission for patients, ensuring accurate patient data and maintaining professional relationships with providers and insurance companies while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Validate patient information, scheduled tests/surgeries, and insurance details to ensure accuracy in the authorization process
• Communicate professionally with provider offices, insurance companies, and patients to provide excellent customer service and facilitate appointment rescheduling
• Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to support authorization processes for multiple BJC hospitals, accessing various systems to secure and validate authorization information

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• 2-5 years of relevant experience
• Knowledge of insurance carriers, Medicare guidelines, and federal and state regulations
• Ability to work in a safety-sensitive position with constant alertness
• CHAA certification preferred
