Job Summary
Working remotely, the full-time Missouri Licensed Professional Coder will assign diagnosis and procedure codes for professional fee encounters, ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines and collaborating with healthcare providers to maintain coding integrity.
Key responsibilities
- Stays updated on coding conventions, regulatory guidelines, and BJC coding guidance
- Validates primary and secondary diagnosis codes and assigns procedure codes, excluding surgical procedures
- Collaborates with leadership and providers to ensure medical record integrity and coding compliance
Required qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- At least one of the following certifications: CCA, CPC, CPC-A, CCS-P, RHIA, RHIT, or CCS
- Experience in E/M coding is preferred but not required
