Job Summary

Leading a team of retail residential underwriters, the full-time Missouri Licensed Underwriting Manager will mentor staff, manage escalated files, and ensure compliance while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and calibrate a team of underwriters to set standards for quality and efficiency
• Manage escalated and exception files while maintaining production flow and credit profile integrity
• Serve as a cross-functional partner to sales and operations, facilitating smooth pipeline movement

Required qualifications

• 5 years of mortgage underwriting management experience in a retail residential setting
• Deep knowledge of agency guidelines including Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and FHA
• Hands-on proficiency with Encompass LOS
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team in a fast-paced independent mortgage company environment
• Comfort operating autonomously in a non-depository setting with a strong compliance foundation
