Job Summary
Supporting the Transportation Security Administration, the full-time Model Based Systems Engineer will leverage a Model-Based Systems Engineering approach to develop requirements artifacts and promote MBSE methodologies, with a preference for local candidates in Springfield, VA, while offering remote work options.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop and analyze requirements artifacts such as Concept of Operations (CONOPS), Operational Requirements Document (ORD), and Functional Requirements Document (FRD) for transportation security equipment
- Promote and implement Model-Based Systems Engineering methodologies and tools to enhance requirements development processes
- Provide expert engineering support to address TSA's Security Capabilities and Requirements and Engineering needs
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, systems/software/computer engineering, or related disciplines
- Minimum of five years of experience in systems engineering and requirements development
- Proficiency with tools such as MagicDraw, Cameo, Rational Rose, or DOORS
- Knowledge of the Development Life Cycle Framework for translating user requirements into functional and system level requirements
- Preference for experience with DHS or DoD acquisitions and the transportation security domain
