Monitoring and Evaluation Consultant

Job Summary

To support ongoing MLE Strategy work across Africa Safe Water programs, the remote Monitoring and Evaluation Consultant will manage project execution, design and implement pilots for MLE redesign, and coordinate with regional teams to ensure quality and alignment in MLE activities.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute pilots to test MLE redesign approaches and synthesize learnings for broader integration
• Implement and document operational monitoring approaches for waterpoint and dispenser checks across multiple regions
• Support project management for Africa Safe Water MLE strategy activities, including work plan tracking and milestone documentation

Required qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in developing M&E frameworks and conducting implementation research, preferably in WASH or water program monitoring
• Experience in developing or piloting new approaches and contributing to iterative redesign processes
• Data analysis skills with a focus on exploratory analysis and decision-making based on incomplete information
• Ability to manage complex work plans and projects while prioritizing effectively in a global, matrixed environment
• Proven collaboration skills across teams and departments, with the ability to work variable hours to accommodate different time zones
