Mortgage Assistance Specialist

Job Summary

Responsible for reaching out to customers to collect payments on past due mortgage accounts, the full-time Mortgage Assistance Specialist will work remotely to develop collection strategies, maintain records, and provide customer service regarding collection issues.

Key responsibilities

• Determines collection strategies by listening to customers' stories and making collection calls or correspondence
• Maintains accurate records of customer contacts in the automated collection system and develops action plans to minimize loss
• Provides customer service for basic collection issues while ensuring compliance with federal and state laws regarding debt collection

Required qualifications

• 2+ years of mortgage experience required
• 2+ years of direct experience in Default/Collections
• Working knowledge of mortgage documents and understanding of the mortgage life cycle
• General understanding of servicing agency loans: FNMA/FHLMC/FHA/VA/USDA
