Mortgage Collections Specialist

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Mortgage Customer Outreach Specialist II responsible for collecting on delinquent mortgage loans.

Key Responsibilities

• Initiate contact with consumers in default on their mortgage loans to collect past due payments while ensuring compliance with laws and regulations
• Collect financial information, assess repayment ability, and arrange repayment plans or referrals to Loss Mitigation or Alternative Lending
• Analyze account files to determine appropriate actions, including potential foreclosure referrals, and assist in training new hires as needed

Required Qualifications

• A combined 3 years of higher education and/or work experience, with at least 1 year in collections or customer service
• Proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet software
• Experience in negotiation
• Knowledge of skip tracing software and servicing systems is preferred
• Bachelor's degree is preferred
