Job Summary
Evaluating complex loan scenarios and providing strategic guidance, the full-time remote Mortgage Deal Desk Manager will analyze risk, assess underwriting exceptions, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support sound lending decisions.
Key responsibilities
- Review and analyze complex loan scenarios to determine eligibility and potential paths to approval
- Evaluate requests for underwriting exceptions and guideline variances while assessing overall risk
- Communicate complex guideline interpretations and risk assessments clearly to internal stakeholders
Required qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred
- 5+ years of mortgage underwriting experience with expertise in agency, government, non-QM, and investor guidelines
- 2+ years of experience evaluating complex loan scenarios or escalated credit-risk decisions
- Proven ability to interpret and apply complex guidelines while exercising sound judgment
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to balance credit risk and business objectives
