Mortgage Underwriter

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Mortgage Underwriter who is experienced in evaluating and approving loans.

Key Responsibilities

• Approve saleable loans and underwrite all loans under FNMA, FHLMC, and FHA loan programs
• Monitor pipeline and make underwriting decisions based on risk assessment
• Deliver high-quality service with timely updates to Mortgage Specialists

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, or related field preferred; minimum HS diploma required
• Minimum of 2 years' DE Underwriting experience with conventional and FHA loans
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; experience with electronic mortgage processing systems required
• Must reside in a state where the company is currently licensed
• Ability to manage high-stress situations and work overtime as needed
