Job Summary

A company is looking for a Mortgage Underwriter (Remote) who will evaluate loan files and make credit decisions in a compliant manner.

Key Responsibilities

• Review loan files to assess income, assets, credit, collateral, and overall credit risk across multiple loan products
• Apply underwriting guidelines to determine loan eligibility and ensure compliance with agency and investor requirements
• Communicate underwriting decisions and conditions clearly to the loan team to facilitate efficient loan processing

Required Qualifications

• At least 2 years of mortgage underwriting experience
• At least 3 years of experience in the mortgage industry
• Strong working knowledge of mortgage underwriting guidelines and loan documentation
• Experience analyzing borrower financials and assessing overall loan risk
• Ability to operate effectively in a deadline-driven mortgage production environment
