Mortgage Underwriter

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Mortgage Underwriter.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review loan applications and supporting documentation to make initial underwriting decisions
• Complete Notices of Loan Action and communicate conditions for final loan approval
• Consult with various departments throughout the loan process to ensure compliance and facilitate closing

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of mortgage processing or equivalent experience in loan document review
• Familiarity with industry guidelines and regulatory requirements
• Basic understanding of financial statements, credit analysis, and risk assessment
• Ability to perform basic income calculations and evaluate debt to income (DTI) and loan to value (LTV) ratios
• Experience with Encompass LOS preferred, but not required
