Mortgage Underwriter

Job Summary

Underwriting a full range of mortgage loans, the full-time Mortgage Underwriter will analyze applications, manage a loan pipeline, and ensure compliance with company guidelines while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Underwrite mortgage loans including Agency, Jumbo, FHA, and VA loans to minimize risk
• Proactively manage a pipeline of loans, ensuring all documentation meets company standards
• Communicate underwriting findings and assist in resolving any deficiencies in loan files

Required qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; BA or BS desired
• 3-5 years of mortgage underwriting experience required, with at least 2 years in FHA/VA loans
• Proficiency with automated underwriting systems
• FHA Direct Endorsement, VA-SAR, and LAPP certifications desired but not required
• Self-starter with a strong work ethic and professionalism
