Mortgage Underwriter
Job Summary
Evaluating complex mortgage applications, the full-time remote Mortgage Underwriter will manage the end-to-end underwriting review, ensuring compliance with credit policies while collaborating with various teams to enhance the borrower experience.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead comprehensive underwriting reviews, analyzing income, assets, liabilities, collateral, and credit
- Resolve escalated files by collaborating with credit policy, capital markets, and compliance teams
- Identify underwriting trends and recommend process improvements to enhance quality and efficiency
Required qualifications:
- Minimum of 8+ years of recent residential mortgage underwriting experience
- Ability to underwrite mortgage loan files for agency compliance and investor guidelines
- Experience with reviewing borrower profiles, including income documentation and credit reports
- Preferred experience with Jumbo loans and manual underwriting
- Familiarity with Encompass software is preferred
