A company is looking for a Mortgage Underwriter - Contractor.

Key Responsibilities

• Apply advanced knowledge of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, and VA guidelines to test mortgage underwriting tools and validate accuracy
• Review borrower documentation and confirm the correct application of underwriting rules
• Document test results, flag discrepancies, and recommend solutions to ensure compliance with standards

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of mortgage underwriting experience, including FHA and VA
• Skilled in reviewing borrower documentation such as W-2s, tax returns, and pay stubs
• Strong expertise in income analysis, credit evaluation, and AUS findings
• Experience testing technology products or tools is a plus
• Tech-savvy with the ability to critique mortgage software and explain findings clearly
