Mortgage Underwriter Non-QM Specialist
Job Summary
Detail-oriented and experienced in residential lending, the full-time Mortgage Underwriter Non-QM Specialist will evaluate complex loan applications, assess risk, and ensure high-quality credit decisions while working remotely.
Key responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive reviews of loan applications, including complex income documentation and appraisals
- Classify and qualify loans according to company and secondary market guidelines, conducting risk evaluations
- Collaborate with Loan Originators and Processors to resolve compliance issues and enhance loan viability
Required qualifications:
- 4-6 years of mortgage experience, with a minimum of 4 years in residential underwriting
- Specific experience with Non-QM products and manual underwriting policies
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business (or equivalent experience)
- Proficiency in Encompass and fraud-detection tools is highly preferred
- A dedicated home workspace with high-speed internet access
