Mortgage Underwriter - OH Licensed

Job Summary

Offering a hybrid remote opportunity, the full-time Mortgage Underwriter - OH Licensed will be responsible for approving saleable loans, underwriting various loan programs, and maintaining knowledge of investor guidelines while delivering high-quality service.

Key responsibilities

• Approve loans based on risk assessment and underwrite all loans under FNMA, FHLMC, and FHA programs
• Monitor daily pipeline and self-assigned preapprovals, ensuring timely updates to Mortgage Specialists
• Analyze loan quality issues and uphold strict fraud prevention and ethical standards

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, or related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Minimum of 2 years' DE Underwriting experience with conventional and FHA loans; USDA/VA experience is a plus
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; experience with electronic mortgage processing systems required (Encompass preferred)
• Must reside in a state where the company is currently licensed
• Ability to manage high-stress situations and work overtime as needed
